blue flowers

Blue flowers are relatively rare in nature. For many flowers, it was possible to grow blue varieties through breeding, other flowers stubbornly resist the blue variant (e.g. roses). The blue color of various tones can be found in many spring flowers and annuals, but these do better in the ground, they wither quickly after plucking. For cut flowers, there is only a very limited number of species that you can buy in this unusual color.

Symbolism of blue flowers
Perhaps also for that reason, blue-toned bouquets are given for really rare occasions, such as the birth of a son or a wedding. At the wedding, they can also fulfill the purpose of one of the traditions (the bride should wear something blue). As for the symbolism of blue flowers, their color brings peace, hope and serenity. It is a symbol of new beginnings and adventures, but also of farewells and memories.

The most common blue cut flowers
Roses are of course among the most sold blue flowers, but they do not naturally occur in blue, so we will discuss them in more detail below. Among the other most frequently sold flowers, which are found in nature in the blue variant, are:
Hydrangea - We offer it in a beautiful arrangement with thistles
Iris (Irises, Gladioli)
Asters
• Cornflowers
Hyacinth

Blue flowers look amazing in combination with white, when both colors emphasize each other. Due to the fact that blue is associated with respect, hope and change, it is used not only for festive ties but also for mourning ties.

However, the blue color can make any bouquet special, precisely because it belongs to one of the less common ones. If the bouquet is tuned to blue or "just" made special with blue flowers, it suddenly becomes a special bouquet.

Blue roses
As we mentioned above, blue color is not the natural color of roses. In nature, blue roses do not occur at all, despite all efforts, roses simply resist the blue variant. For the production of blue roses, white and cream roses are used, most often it is the Vendela variety. The rose is dyed while the flower is still closed, by immersing the stem in a special solution with a healthy dye. In this way, the entire flower will be colored evenly and the blue color will remain. In contrast, if you were to dye roses at home, for example by dipping the flower in blue food coloring, the flower would not be as distinctly blue and the color would fade in a few days.

Blue flowers for the flower bed and for the apartment
Many flowers also have blue flowers, which, although they are not very suitable for flower arrangements, can make your apartment or garden special and fragrant. The most popular ones include:
• Lobelka low
• Forgetfulness
• Bruise
• Cornflower
• Linen
• Cameo
• Hyacinth
• Ladonka
• He broke up
• Ostrožka
• Limit
But beware of the last two named, they are highly poisonous. So if you have small children at home who like to taste everything, place these flowers somewhere out of their reach.
