Gladiolus (marigold) has its origins in South Africa and we know of 200 species of this tuberous plant. In the Czech Republic it is one of the most cultivated tuberous summer plants. They thrive in a sunny habitat in warm soil, planted mainly in rows in nutritious soil. They grow to a height of 90 - 130 cm and have triangular flowers 10 - 17 cm wide in clusters about 50 cm long, which grow in clusters and smell sweet. In vases it is a solitaire. You will find Gladiolus on sale in seasonal flowers during the summer months. We buy Gladiolus at the beginning of the season in Holland, from July to September we buy Gladiolus from Czech growers. Gladiolus is great as a floral decoration for a large space (hotel, restaurant, reception).
