Matthiola (Fiala) is one of many genera of the crucifer family, which are known for their predominantly perennial flowers with often pleasant aroma. They occur in Europe, Asia, North West Africa, North America and Australia. The genus fiala is divided into about 50 species. In the Czech Republic, only two species grow sparsely in the wild. We use Matthiol in mixed flowers and we like to take it to farmers' markets.
