Bamboo – Minimalist Architecture and a Symbol of Purity
Most of the “bamboo” we use in floristry (known as Lucky Bamboo) is not, botanically speaking, true bamboo at all (that belongs to the grass family, Poaceae) – it is actually a plant of the genus Dracaena from the asparagus family (Asparagaceae), native to Central Africa. In a bouquet it does not act like an ordinary flower but as a structural building block that defines the shape, sets the rhythm, and brings vertical energy to the design. Its smooth, segmented stems are perfect for anyone who loves Asian minimalism and Zen aesthetics.
A fact from the floristry workshop: Dracaena sanderiana has an incredible ability to survive in plain water for months, and in many cultures it is considered a magnet for luck and positive energy.

✦ Care in a vase: Bamboo is essentially “immortal.” All it needs is clean water (ideally left to stand) and an occasional stem trim. Leave it in water long enough and it will grow roots, letting you keep growing it indefinitely.
