Spray Chrysanthemum – Playful Volume and the Colours of Autumn
Chrysanthemum belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae) and has been cultivated as an ornamental plant for thousands of years in China and Japan, from where it spread across the world. It comes to us in two forms: as a single-bloom type, with one large flower per stem, or as a spray (multiflora) type, carrying a whole family of smaller blooms on a single stem. It is the spray variety that brings depth, texture, and remarkable longevity to a bouquet – the flower that still looks beautiful in a bouquet long after everything else has gone.

An edible tea: Some chrysanthemum varieties (especially in China) are used to brew an aromatic tea, said to help with colds.

Symbolism: While the white chrysanthemum remains a symbol of respect, the colourful spray varieties symbolise joy, optimism, and lasting friendship.

If you are putting together a bouquet from our cut flowers by the stem section, remember that chrysanthemum cannot stand leaves in the water. Strip them all off before placing it in the vase – the water stays clean and the flower will easily last 3 weeks.”
