Ecuadorian Roses, Queens of Roses

Say "luxury rose," and florists all over the world will answer in unison: Ecuador. While ordinary supermarket roses last just a few days and have small heads, Ecuadorian roses are a different league entirely. They're sturdy, with thick stems, rich colors, and blooms that are often as big as the palm of your hand.

As florists, we love them because they're "keepers." While other flowers droop after a few days, Ecuadorian roses (like the Explorer or Mondial varieties) can proudly stand in a vase for up to 14 days.

Choose Ecuadorian Quality (In Stock)

We import these varieties directly from farms beneath the Andes.

The Secret of Quality: Why Are They So Exceptional?

It's no accident. Ecuador has absolutely unique conditions for growing roses that you won't find anywhere else in the world.

  1. Altitude: The roses are grown high in the Andes (2,000–3,000 m above sea level). This makes them grow more slowly, giving the plant time to develop an extremely strong stem and a large bloom.

  2. Equatorial sunshine: Ecuador sits right on the equator (hence the name). The roses here get 12 hours of intense sunlight every day, all year round. That's why they have such rich, vivid colors.

  3. Volcanic soil: The farms are often located at the foot of volcanoes. The soil here is rich in minerals, which gives the roses vitality and long-lasting freshness (they stay fresh in a vase for up to 14 days).

A Tip From the Trade: The Secret of the "Guard Petals"

This is something most people don't know, and it often gives them an unnecessary scare. When your roses arrive, the outer petals may have a slightly greenish tint or visible veining.

Tip from florist Monika: "Don't worry, the flower isn't wilted! Those are the so-called guard petals. Nature created them to protect the delicate inner bloom during transport. It's actually a sign that the rose hasn't been roughly handled. What should you do with them? If they bother you, simply peel them off gently at home. Underneath, a perfect bloom unfolds."

The Most Popular Varieties: Which One to Choose?

There are thousands of varieties on the market, but we select only the proven ones with the best ratings for you.

  • Explorer: The king among red roses. Deep red, velvety color and an elegant bloom shape that opens slowly. It's a symbol of passion.

  • Mondial / Tibet: Pure white roses with a hint of cream or green at the edges. A symbol of innocence.

  • Malibu: A stunning two-toned rose. Its white base is edged with a rich pink line. It looks very feminine and playful.

  • Pink O'Hara: A gorgeous, fragrant garden-style rose (resembling a peony). It has a light pink center and an intoxicating scent, which is rare among modern roses.

  • Freedom: The classic, bright red rose, a permanent fixture for Valentine's Day.

How to Care for Ecuadorian Roses?

For this beauty to last the full 14 days mentioned above, it needs a bit of care.

  1. Plenty of water: Thanks to their thick stems, these roses "drink" more than other flowers. Fill the vase with cold water to at least two-thirds.

  2. An angled cut: Trim the stem with a long, diagonal cut, to maximize the surface area for drawing up water.

  3. Flower food: Always add the packet of flower food you get from us. It slows bacterial growth.

Treat yourself to luxury that's visible at first glance.
