Germini (Gerbera jamesonii, small-flowered cultivars) belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae) and, like the standard Gerbera, comes from South Africa. It is a perennial grown as a cut flower, with a smaller head than the large Gerbera, yet it holds huge significance in floristry: it is among the most widely used cut flowers in the world. Its strength lies not in size but in perfect symmetry and its ability to scatter dozens of bright spots of colour through a bouquet.
