Roses for a birthday are a classic that never disappoints. But how many should you bring? One, twelve, or exactly as many as the years being celebrated? And will an even number be a problem?
You often ask us this. So we have prepared an overview by age to make the decision easier, including ready-made bouquets and single roses from which you can put the number together yourself.

| 18 | 18 roses | Coming of age: one rose for every year. A colourful mix or pink roses work well. |
| 20 | 20 roses | The first round birthday, somewhere between childhood and adulthood. A light bouquet, not too solemn. |
| 30 | 30 roses | A round thirtieth. A combination of red and white roses looks festive. |
| 40 | 40 roses | A gesture for a partner or mother that shows how much you appreciate her. |

| 60 | 60 roses | A grand gesture. If the number is too large, 21 to 31 roses look just as festive. |

With large numbers the count does not have to match the age. Many people choose a smaller but carefully arranged bouquet, or a number with a personal meaning.
Is an Even Number of Roses a Problem for a Birthday?
For birthdays an odd number of flowers is traditional, while an even number belongs rather to funerals (more in the article How many flowers for a funeral). But the rule mainly concerns small bouquets. For round birthdays the most sensible number is the age, even if it is even, i.e. 18, 30 or 40 roses. Which Colour of Roses to Choose
