The concept of the Anemone was quite different among the authors. There is the widest conception where the Hepatica and Pulsatilla are not recognized and the representatives are then classified into the Anemone family. This conception holds, for example, Flora of North America. Other genera Hepatica and Pulsatilla recognize, for example, the Flora of China.
These are perennial herbs with underground rhizome, which can be long and cylindrical or tuberically shortened. [4] The stems are glabrous or hirsute. Ground-ground leaves may be absent, otherwise they are present, then they are long petiolate, they are usually ternate, sometimes up to five-pointed or just palm-divided. The stem leaves (or mussels, depending on the interpretation) are similar to the ground, in the triple-spleen, they are usually triple. Flowers are mostly single, more often in several different colors, white, yellow, but also red or blue. The petals are usually 5-20. It is, however, in fact a petalized (imitating crown) quartz leaf, where crown tickets are missing.
