Scabiosa (Hlaváč) is a genus of honeysuckle herbs, which is flowering with a brush-like inflorescence. It comes from Europe, the Mediterranean and Western Asia. It is found almost all over Europe and in a subtropical temperate zone in Asia and Africa. Some species of gobies are used in horticulture where they are versatile as undemanding perennials with flowers having a wide color range. Other species of cushion-shaped inflorescences and wiry stems are valuable cut flowers.
