Wild flora is programmed to 'wilt' quickly after being picked, in order to protect its seeds. Cultivated flora, by contrast (which is what we use), is genetically bred to have sturdy tissue and stay fresh in a vase for 7–14 days. That's why a bouquet from a professional lasts many times longer than one picked in a field."
