Roses – The Queen of Flowers and a Timeless Symbol of Emotion
The Rose (Rosa) is a genus of shrubby plants from the rose family (Rosaceae), encompassing hundreds of wild species and thousands of cultivated varieties grown worldwide. In floristry there is an old rule: if you cannot recognize a quality rose by the feel of its stem, you do not yet know how to sell flowers. For us at KvětinyExpres.cz, roses are a universal language people have used for centuries to express what matters most – we source them year-round, from giant large-headed Ecuadorean varieties to delicate spray roses that many of us grow at home in the garden.
Our Guarantee of Quality: The world of roses holds huge differences in quality. We source A1-grade roses year-round directly from the Dutch flower auction and premium growers in Ecuador. That means strong stems, guaranteed bloom size, and remarkable vase life.

Tip from Monika (Owner of KvětinyExpres.cz): “I have had spray roses growing in my own garden for several years now – they bloom all summer and smell completely different from the large-headed varieties you get wholesale. But for a truly representative gift, I still reach for the classic large-headed roses, and preferably in an unconventional number of roses – say 15 or 21 stems, which looks far more interesting than a round number. And a tip from experience: before you put a rose in the vase, cut the stem underwater with a long diagonal cut – otherwise it draws in air and wilts faster.”
✦ Did You Know...? Roses are also key ingredients in cosmetics and gastronomy – rose oil is among the most expensive oils in the world. To keep yours fresh as long as possible, just do two things: change the water regularly, and re-cut the stem each time you do.
