Losing someone close to you is one of the hardest moments in life. When arranging a final farewell in Prague, you'll most likely encounter two main locations: Strašnice Crematorium and the Olšany Cemeteries.
Although they sit close to each other (separated only by Jana Želivského street), they're actually different venues. To help you find your way around, we've put together an overview of each hall.

1. Strašnice Crematorium (The Largest in Europe)
Did you know the Strašnice crematorium building is the largest in Europe by floor area? It's an architecturally significant structure, and also the busiest venue for final farewells in Prague. The complex has two halls:
The Large Ceremonial Hall (Strašnice)
This monumental hall forms the heart of the crematorium's layout. It's designed for larger funerals and dignified farewells with a bigger number of guests.

Capacity: Up to 300 mourners (of which about 60 seated).

Facilities: A catafalque, permanent floral décor, electric candles, and a speaker's podium.

Music: You can choose recorded music or live musicians (organ, strings).
The Small Ceremonial Hall (Baxova)
This hall was built later, for more intimate farewells. It's also called the "Baxova" hall (named after mayor Karel Baxa).

Capacity: Designed for a close family circle (up to about 20–50 people).

Atmosphere: A more intimate setting, suited to quiet farewells without much formality.
2. The Olšany Cemeteries
On the other side of the street, within the historic Olšany Cemeteries complex, you'll find two more halls. These are often chosen for church ceremonies, or for their distinctive atmosphere.
The New Ceremonial Hall (Olšany)
Located in the southeastern part of the cemeteries (closer to us). Interestingly, this building once served as Prague's very first makeshift crematorium.

Capacity: About 100 guests (40 of them seated).

Technology: Equipped with an LCD screen, on which photos or a video from the life of the deceased can be shown.
The Central Ceremonial Hall (Olšany)
You'll find it to the left of the main gate from Vinohradská street. It offers a dignified, peaceful setting.

Capacity: About 100 seats.

Facilities: A speaker's podium and two screens for showing memories.
How Does It Work on the Day of the Funeral?
On the day of the funeral, keep your thoughts on your family, not on logistics. We'll take care of the flowers.

Choose online: Select a funeral wreath or a bouquet for laying down.

Enter the details: In your order, state the date and time of the ceremony, the name of the deceased, and the name of the hall (e.g. "The Large Ceremonial Hall, Strašnice").

Delivery: We prepare the flowers in our studio and deliver them through the staff entrance directly to the hall (about 60 minutes before the ceremony). You'll arrive to find everything ready, with the flowers already arranged by the coffin.
